Got to keep up appearances, eh Lia? Hope she and Emi can keep their stories straight, otherwise someone’s going to be picking holes in them.

Decieving Death. Am i the only one that finds that funny?

    • Mr. Al

Only when one does not fear death is one truly free

“And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matt 10:28

Death is cute, to bad she is villanized.

  • arkcine

it’s not just that death looks cute, she also occasionally acts cute too….like when she asked Lia for some crushed ice. it was during the ark where axle separated the last magi of fire from his magic.

    1. Sage this page do to Death facial structure being nearly identical to Kat’s reminded me of something old fire said early on, that Kat has the blood of a 5th Magus but none of the powers… I know this is going off on a limb but could have Kat’s mother actually have acted as she did to keep her daughter out of the magi mess.

    2. Death doesn’t seem like the kind to take over the world more like the kind that would do anything to satisfy a controlling brother.

First off- Please call her Kate not Kat XD. Second, Kate’s ancestor was a highly skilled Geomancer (which in the case of Yosh! was a mage that was highly competent at the 4 main elements, Fire, Power, Water, and Earth). It was a very rare magical trait. Not on the level of a magi though. We’ll have more on Kate’s mother much later though.

As for your last bit, actually you have it backwards XD Her brother is the one manipulated by her. She needs him to stay alive, she uses the guilt that if she died it would be his fault to control him. However, as I have explained before, my “villains” are never “Evil because they are evil”. Cortex is a manipulative man that does elaborate setups and spends months planning things. He wants to find a way to make mages no longer an uncontrollable threat. He’s willing to go very far to achieve that goal. Fire and Power were manipulated by their own magic and their families (and even then- in Fire’s case the magic has been abused and twisted, and Emi’s family is a clan like family that teaches at a young age you have to fight for everything, and if you can’t fight, you manipulate. They aren’t evil, it’s how they have been raised for thousands of years).

Even the twins aren’t just “evil” and want to take over the world. They have memories from thousands of years ago showing them in a god-like position. They feel they deserve that and that it was taken from them. There’s more to it but we’ll get there eventually ^_^

1 sorry 2 ok good to know 3 expected as much from Kate’s mother 4 it’s hard to tell when we have seen them only once before and darn that is COLD. 5 i see cortex as your take on the typical actively scared like Nausea was in the end on book 4 of the Inheritance Cycle for magicians from a different point of view. 6 the why they want the world part is what i have been waiting for for a while forgive me for implying the “evil” sense of it i know there is a story behind it so i usually categorize those characters as misguided or slave antagonists like the Urguls in book 1
